Transparency & Standards / Draft Standard 02

ShieldID Network performs private, documented real-shop testing for automotive films. We separate the test relationship, method, observations, limitations, and the delivery of findings to the commissioning company.
ShieldID does not offer or sell paid video reviews, paid endorsements, ratings, recommendations, approvals, or good/bad verdicts. Payment covers private automotive-film testing, documentation, the three-stage written findings report, and a private explanatory video only.
Paying ShieldID to test or evaluate a film never guarantees Film Brand Directory listing, partnership, endorsement, approval, member status, or access to the ShieldID Network. Testing and network eligibility are separate evidence-based decisions.
Trust. Standards. Protection.
Proposed real-shop testing method
The draft method starts before installation and continues through three report stages and a private explanatory video deliverable. Each stage preserves enough context to understand what happened, what remains unknown, and what should be checked again.
Scope, film identity/custody, manufacturer claims, conditions, preparation, and real-shop installation.
Documented handling/application behavior, observations, measurements, deviations, limitations, and unresolved questions.
Observations over the agreed follow-up period, changes or durability evidence, remaining unknowns, and final consolidated findings.
Record the exact scope of the testing engagement and any payment, supplied product, or commercial relationship before testing begins.
Document how the film arrived, who supplied it, and its exact identity, version, or batch to ensure the correct product is tested.
Preserve the exact technical, warranty, safety, and marketing claims being evaluated, together with the planned test methodology.
Capture the real-shop installation process, deviations from the plan, measurements, photos or video, and direct installer observations.
Record immediate performance, durability observations, unresolved questions, contrary results, and variables that may affect the outcome.
Deliver the three-stage written report and private explanatory video to the brand. The brand makes its own publication choice. ShieldID never publishes commissioned private tests.
Required test record
A conclusion is only as useful as the record behind it. The draft standard calls for the relationship, test setup, evidence, limitations, and record status to remain visible together.
Product identity, version, batch, or lot when available
Who purchased, supplied, discounted, loaned, or paid
Compensation, return terms, or content-control conditions
Tester, shop, installer, vehicle, or test surface
Dates, preparation, application method, equipment, and conditions
Test plan, comparison criteria, sample size, and deviations
Manufacturer, technical, warranty, and safety claims with sources
Direct observations and measurements
Installer opinions kept separate from observed facts
Limitations, unknowns, conflicting observations, and pending questions
Supporting photos, video, documents, and source references
Follow-up period, evaluation status, correction status, and company publication status
Evidence separation
Relationship disclosure does not prove a product claim. The record should show whether a statement is an observation, an opinion, an attributed claim, still unverified, or waiting on time.

Directly documented under the stated test method and conditions.
E-01
Practical judgment based on experience and clearly labeled as opinion.
E-02
Attributed to its source rather than presented as a ShieldID finding.
E-03
Not sufficiently supported for a conclusion under the available record.
E-04
An early observation that still requires time and follow-up.
E-05Publication Option

The film company receives the completed video and may choose to publish it on its own channels. If the company does not like the findings, it may choose not to publish. A company choosing not to publish creates no public ShieldID finding and does not mean the film passed, failed, was approved, or was rejected.

ShieldID does not publish commissioned private tests, private explanatory videos, findings, clips, scores, or reports on ShieldID-owned websites, social channels, or other public channels. There is no separate ShieldID publication decision for this program.
This preview presents a proposed voluntary ShieldID product-testing framework for discussion and review. It is not a product test, score, certification, approval, endorsement, warranty, legal or safety determination, or finding about any brand or product.
